My Approach

I focus on your unique needs as there is no one way of eating that works for every individual. Everyone has their own genetic and hormonal makeup and needs that when individualized can have profound effects on their health and wellbeing. Wellness is accessible through eating based on the knowledge that one person's food may be another's poison and that good nutrition is the foundation for lasting wellness and is the primary modifiable action one can take to prevent chronic disease.

What is often missed in medicine and by medical practitioners is that a person's relationship with food is affected by other factors outside of the actual food. Primary foods: relationships, sleep, self-esteem, exercise habits, life purpose and career can all be a catalyst for wellness or disease. The more satisfying our lives are, the less we depend on food to fill a void. Wellness coaching addresses the primary foods.

Are you always tired?

Getting deep, restorative sleep is a concern if you are always tired. Did you know that digestion can affect your ability to achieve a calm and restful sleep? Many things can contribute to your lack of energy: stress, adrenal fatigue, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, or pain can all be associated with being tired. Let's address this whole-istacally.

Do you have weight issues?

Having a hard time maintaining your ideal weight? Being over/under weight is not as simple as calories in / calories out. The ability to maintain your ideal weight may have underlying metabolic disturbances which are often due to your biochemistry and the environment. Let’s work on how to resolve your individual weight issues! Let's address this whole-istcally.

Do you struggle with eating healthy?

Eating healthy means consuming more wholesome foods that are free of additives, preservatives, pesticides, hormones and GMOs. However, for many of us, food is medicine, it is the special fuel that helps us achieve our best health. For someone undergoing cancer treatment, eating healthy means supporting the immune system and digestive health. For people with food allergies, it means avoiding foods to reduce inflammation. For the tri-athlete, eating dense calories and sufficient protein is mandatory for their superhuman energy demands. Let's address this whole-istcally.

Do you lack mental focus?

Stress, insomnia and what we eat, are all known factors that affect mental focus. Protein helps with alertness, and high sugar intake can impair attention span. Food allergies can dull cognitive function. Poor digestion cause foggy brain and decrease the ability to focus. Let's address this whole-istcally.

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I pride myself in thorough research, organization and information delivery that is highly personalized and is realistic for my clients in terms of the demands of their lives.

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
